It’s time to visit the Chevy dealer because the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 is here. With numerous powertrain options, a higher towing capacity than some close competitors, and desirable tech features, it’s definitely a truck that you’ll want to get to know.

Great Powertrain Variety

Six of the Silverado 1500’s trims have the 310 hp 2.7-liter TurboMax gas engine as their standard powertrain. It produces an impressive 430 lb-ft of torque. If you prefer a V8 engine, then there are two options available. The 5.3-liter EcoTec V8 produces 335 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. The 6.2-liter version pumps out 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.

Finally, if you’re looking for a diesel engine, then you’ll want to check out the Duramax 3-liter Turbo-Diesel. It’s the brawniest of the bunch with an output of 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque. This strong engine enables the truck to tow up to 13,300 pounds.

Highly Functional Tailgate

You can configure the Silverado 1500’s tailgate in six ways. It has different functions that suit different uses. The primary gate opens regularly the way the tailgate on all trucks does. It also has a load stop to make transporting extra-long items more secure. If you need easy access to the truck bed, then you can fold down the inner gate. The inner gate can also be folded down into a wide, sturdy step to make it easy to climb into the bed.

If you have second-tier items that you need to keep secure, then you can use the inner gate load stop to prevent them from slipping out of the truck bed. Finally, if you need to do some work on the go, then the inner gate can be configured into a standing desk.

In-Command Technology

There’s a 13.4-inch touchscreen available with wireless smartphone compatibility and numerous built-in apps. A 12.3-inch driver information center is also available and can be equipped with or without the 13.4-inch touchscreen. These screens allow easy monitoring of driving stats, access to functions like built-in Google, and access to Connected Services.

The hands-free driving technology that’s available is the most impressive tech feature on the Silverado 1500. With SuperCruise, you can let your truck handle the steering and speed controls so you can drive hands-free on 400,000 miles of roads across North America and Canada.

Easy Trailering

Towing is made easy on the Silverado 1500. There are eight cameras available that provide 14 views around the truck so you can keep track of everything that’s going on around the trailer. A trailer line zone alert feature makes it even safer to tow, and the available Trailering App adds even more useful features.
